UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.- The NROTC Class of 2019 arrived to Penn State on Tuesday, August 18th. During the period of orientation, students participated in a series of briefs, training, and physical fitness. These activities were led by the student staff, all of whom worked tirelessly throughout the week to integrate the new members of the Unit into their new roles as 4/C midshipmen. The week of orientation ended with Battalion Reform on August 21st. During the Reform Ceremony, the members of the Class of 2019 joined the Battalion in formation. Captain Young addressed the Battalion for the first time as the new Commanding Officer. Upperclassmen midshipmen were then given the opportunity to introduce themselves to the freshmen. Following the ceremony, new students and their families were invited to join the Battalion for an informal picnic. At the end of the week, 51 new midshipmen were ready to tackle the year armed with the knowledge and experiences they had gained at Freshmen Orientation.
