NROTC Four Year National Scholarship

Many NROTC midshipmen apply for and receive four-year scholarships for full tuition to Penn State.  Students may apply for scholarships beginning in March of their junior year of high school; applications must be completed by December of the senior year.  A scholarship entitles a student to full tuition, a book stipend, computer and lab fees, and a monthly stipend. Visit the Naval Service Training Command website to begin your application.

Future and current students (Freshman or Sophomore year) desiring to apply for entrance into the Penn State NROTC unit as a College Program (Basic) student must use the below contact form to inform the unit of your impending application, complete the forms listed below and mail them to the following address:

There are 6 components to a complete application:
1 – Penn State NROTC College Program Application

2 – NROTC Applicant Fitness Assessment Score Sheet
3 – DD Form 2807 Report of Medical History
4 – Pre-participation Physical Examination
5 – High School Transcripts (most recent) and College Transcripts (if applicable)
6 – A one to two page personal statement outlining why you desire to join the Penn State NROTC Unit and serve as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy or Marine Corps.
