Naval ROTC students are required to take a set curriculum of courses set out by NSTC M-1533.2C CH-1, Regulations for Officer Development (ROD). Required coursework for Navy option Scholarship students includes one year of Calculus and calculus-based Physics, one year of English, one course focused on American History/National Security Policy and one course focused on World Culture/Regional Studies. Required coursework for Navy option College Program students includes one year of Mathematics at the level of college algebra or above, one year sequence of Physical Science courses, one year of English, one course focused on American History/National Security Policy and one course focused on World Culture/Regional Studies. Marine option students are not required complete Calculus, Physics or a course focused in World Culture/Regional Studies. A summary of required courses is shown below.

Naval Science Courses
In addition to their academic major courses and NROTC required courses, NROTC students are required to complete a Naval Science (NAVSC) courses. Navy and Marine Options take the same NAVSC courses for the first three semesters but the Junior and Senior year the curriculum splits into two tracks that are specialized for each branch. Military Studies Minor
Completing all Naval Science coursework and other course requirements can qualify battalion members for a minor in Military Studies.
