About

Lieutenant Riley D. Robinson is currently the Aviation and First year Instructor at NROTC Unit the Pennsylvania State University. He is originally from San Diego, California and was commissioned in 2015 through NROTC at the University of Southern California with a degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics.

Career

He earned his Wings of Gold in 2017 from HT-18 based out of NAS Whiting Field in Milton, FL. Lieutenant Robinson reported to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron Four Eight (HSM-48) out of Mayport, Florida in 2018 after completing the Fleet Replacement Squadron.

During his time at HSM-48 Lieutenant Robinson completed two deployments to the middle east. The first was a member of the air department onboard the USS Forrest Sherman (DDG-98) and the second was as a member of the air department onboard the USS Philippine Sea (CG-58). Throughout his military career Lieutenant Robinson has accumulated over 1,100 total flight hours in multiple different areas of operation. Throughout his flying career he has flown the T-6B, TH-57, and MH-60R.

Lieutenant Robinson is married to his wife Kaley and the two current reside in State College.

Awards

He has earned the following decorations: Navy Achievement Medal, Battle “E” Medal, Global War on Terror Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal.
